As we all know, this year on 15th August 2022, 75 years of the country's independence will be completed. On 12 March 2021, 75 weeks before the completion of 75 years of independence, the Central Government organized the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, which will run till 15 August 2023.Sabarmati of Gujarat has been chosen for the commencement of Amrit Mahotsav. It was from here that the Dandi March was started under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi. Till the completion of 75 years of independence i.e. till 15th August 2022, various programs will be organized all over the country for 75 weeks. Many programs will be organized in every state and every union territory of the country as well as in Indian embassies. A high level national committee of 259 members has also been constituted for programs on the occasion of 75 years of India's independence.

Purpose:-

Exhibitions organized across the country will showcase the main sites related to independence, including the non-cooperation movement, the Civil Disobedience Movement, the Quit India Movement, as well as the Dandi March, Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and leaders of the movement. Through the festival, those forgotten heroes associated with freedom will also be searched, whose names are still hidden somewhere in the pages of history. Through this, the people of the country, the youth and children of the country will be able to know the Mahavira warrior who is buried somewhere in the pages of history.

Activities Planned Under 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated a website for Amrit Mahotsav.
An 'Aatmanirbhar Incubator' was started which will help around 40,000 families involved in traditional arts.
In Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, exhibitions, cycle marches, tree plantations and processions were scheduled to remember the freedom fighters.
Regional Outreach Bureau has organized a five day handicrafts exhibition in Rajasthan.

Importance of Amrit Festival of Independence:-

Prime Minister Modi started the Amrit Mahotsav on March 12, 2022 because, on March 12, 1930, the Dandi March was started, which was a direct action campaign of anti-tax and non-violent protest against the British monopoly on salt, which was started on 6 April. , lasted till 1930.Gandhi traveled 241 miles with 78 followers from Sabarmati to the Arabian Sea (up to the coastal town of Dandi) on 12 March. The purpose of this visit was to violate the British policy by Gandhi and his supporters by making salt from sea water.

Five themes of the Amrit Festival of Independence:-

Freedom Struggle:-

This theme begins our commemoration initiative under the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi. This theme helps bring to life the stories of forgotten heroes whose sacrifices have made freedom a reality for us.Programs under this theme include Birsa Munda Jayanti (Tribal Pride Day), proclamation of Provisional Government of Independent India by Netaji, Martyrs' Day etc.

Thoughts on 75 Years:-

The world as we knew it is changing and a new world is emerging. The strength of our conviction will determine the longevity of our thoughts. Events and events under this theme include popular, participatory initiatives that help bring to life India's unique contribution to the world. These include programs and initiatives like Kashi Utsav dedicated to Hindi litterateurs of the land of Kashi, post cards to the Prime Minister.

Achievements at 75 years:-

It aims to grow into a public account of our collective achievements as a 75 year old independent country with a legacy of 5000+ years of ancient history.Programs under this theme include initiatives such as the Golden Victory Year dedicated to the 1971 victory, launch of Shrestha Yojana during Mahaparinirvana Divas, etc.

Steps on 75 Years:-

The theme focuses on all the efforts that are being made to help India find its rightful place in the new world order emerging in the post-Covid world, highlighting the steps being taken to implement policies and realize commitments are being taken.It is inspired by Prime Minister Modi's clarion call of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas. It covers government policies, plans, action plans as well as commitments from businesses, NGOs, civil society to help realize our ideas and collectively help us build a better tomorrow. Programs under this theme include initiatives like Gati Shakti - National Master Plan for Multimodal Connectivity.

Resolution on 75 years:-

This theme focuses on our collective resolve and determination to shape the destiny of our motherland. The journey to 2047 requires each of us to rise up and play our part as individuals, groups, civil society, institutions of governance, etc.Ideas can be transformed into actions only with our collective determination, well-planned action plans and determined efforts. Programs under this theme include initiatives like Constitution Day, Good Governance Week etc. which help to bring alive our commitment to the 'Planet and the People' while being inspired by a deep sense of purpose.
